Account Setup
Before installing XY Browser Agent, you'll need to create an account or sign in to the XY platform. This account gives you access to download the extension and enables cloud synchronization of your workflows.
Why You Need an Account
Your XY account provides:
- Extension Download Access - Download the latest version of the Chrome extension
- Cloud Workflow Storage - Save and sync your workflows across devices
- Team Collaboration - Share workflows with your organization
- AI Features - Access to intelligent automation capabilities
- Updates & Support - Automatic updates and priority support
Creating Your Account
Step 1: Visit the XY Platform
- Open your browser and go to app.xy.ai
- You'll see the sign-in screen

Step 2: Choose Your Sign-In Method
You have three options to create or access your account:
Option A: Email Sign-In (Magic Link)
- Enter your email address in the email field
- Click "Send sign-in link"
- Check your email for the secure sign-in link
- Click the link in your email to sign in automatically
- The link expires after 15 minutes for security
No Password Required
The magic link method means you never need to remember a password. Each sign-in link is unique and secure.
Option B: Sign in with Google
- Click "Sign in with Google"
- Select your Google account from the popup
- Grant permissions if prompted
- You'll be automatically signed in
Option C: Sign in with Microsoft
- Click "Sign in with Microsoft"
- Enter your Microsoft credentials
- Complete any two-factor authentication if required
- You'll be redirected back to XY signed in
Step 3: Complete Your Profile (First Time Only)
For new accounts, you'll be asked to:
- Confirm your name (pulled from your sign-in method)
- Select your use case (Personal, Team, or Enterprise)
- Accept the Terms of Service

- Passwordless authentication - No passwords to leak or forget
- Secure magic links - Unique, time-limited access tokens
- OAuth 2.0 - Industry-standard secure authentication
- Automatic session timeout - Sessions expire after inactivity
- Two-factor authentication - Available for enhanced security
Best Practices
- Always sign in from trusted devices
- Don't share magic links with others
- Sign out when using shared computers
- Enable two-factor authentication for sensitive workflows
Enterprise Accounts
For organizations requiring SSO or custom authentication:
Single Sign-On (SSO)
- SAML 2.0 support - Integrate with your identity provider
- Active Directory - Connect to your corporate directory
- Custom domains - Use your company's domain for login
- Centralized management - IT admins control access
Setup Process
- Contact your IT administrator
- They'll configure SSO with XY platform
- Use your regular work credentials to sign in
- Access is managed by your organization
Troubleshooting Sign-In
"Email not received"
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Ensure you entered the correct email
- Request a new link (previous links expire)
- Add noreply@xy.ai to your contacts
"Sign-in link expired"
- Magic links expire after 15 minutes
- Request a new link from the sign-in page
- Click the link as soon as you receive it
"Google/Microsoft sign-in not working"
- Clear your browser cookies
- Try an incognito/private window
- Check if pop-ups are blocked
- Ensure JavaScript is enabled
"Account already exists"
- You may have signed up with a different method
- Try all three sign-in options
- Contact support for account recovery
